Afterword
Hey, I'm SEApodEErman.
Mapper. Hitsounder. Keyboard nerd. And yes, a Mahiru enjoyer.

Thanks for reading this far. I'm an IT student who's been into computers since childhood. Most days are pretty ordinary: go to work, get home, spend some time doing something I enjoy, and repeat.
I go by Mahiru Shiina in osu!, where I create beatmaps, work on hitsounds, and occasionally help tournaments with custom mapping and QA. Hitsounding is a big part of what I do, with over 150 maps so far, from simple anime tunes to multi-genre compositions.
Outside of circles, I'm usually tinkering with a keyboard or working on software. I enjoy making things that help others, whether that's hitsounding a map or building a program useful to a handful of people.
Mahiru's warmth, personality, and beauty shape a lot of the atmosphere here. Consider this my little corner for the things I care about.
The names that stuck
SEApodEErman goes back to when I played Dota 2 almost every day. I followed EternalEnvy, usually called EE. Add SEA for Southeast Asia and the spooderman meme, and you get SEApodEErman. It stuck.
In osu!, I go by Mahiru Shiina. I like her gentle personality and innocence. Reading the light novels or watching the anime is always a little dose of sweetness.
A little curiosity
At school, I joined Arduino classes and represented the school in competitions. That kept feeding my interest in computers until studying IT felt like a natural next step. Coding is a mix of curiosity and problem solving for me; AI helps me turn ideas into prototypes and build on them through more iterations.
From Cytus to circles
I used to play Cytus on mobile. One day, I went looking for a PC version and came across osu!. It was a completely different game from what I expected, but I've stuck around since 2019. After a few years of playing, I started wondering how people made such awesome beatmaps. My first attempts were rough, but the community helped me improve.
Hitsounding started because I kept asking other people to do it for me. Eventually, I wanted to find out how hard it actually was, and soon I was hitsounding for others too. A big thank you to midorijeon: his hitsounding guide helped me get to where I am today.
One mod led to another
Tfue's custom keyboard build caught my attention during the pandemic. After some research, I bought my first customizable keyboard, a Keychron C1. Then came lubing switches, adding foam, and taping the back of the PCB. Now I'm in way too deep and still looking for another board to scratch the itch.
I also like doing something slightly different each day. One day I might be coding; the next, riding up to Genting Highlands for the cool breeze. My friends describe me as laid back, and that's pretty accurate.
